Good sized banneton for a standard size sourdough loaf. I'll probably get another, which says it all.

One of the most useful tools in the sourdough kit. Gets right down to the bottom of the starter jar. It gets a lot of use, and is something I'd gladly buy again when it wears out. Or get's eaten by the starter - sometimes it's a real wrestle with the darn beast hanging on to it, spitting and snarling.

Great jar for sourdough starter. Does what it needs to do, which is, a) be a jar, b) stop your starter from escaping the lab and taking over the world. Good wooden lid for when the creature is napping in the fridge, and a cloth lid for when you Feed the Beast and let it do it's work

Amazing that you can send live critters in a bag in the post. Took the little fellas a day or two to wake up, but now they're munching through milk at a rate I can barely keep up with. The creature production line has rapidly expanded to two jars which produce kefir as fast as we can glug it. Our bowels rejoice.

It's a white plastic wotsit that scrapes dough. Probably the one item in the sourdough kits that I use most. This, along with the banneton, jar and dough spatula are all you need to make sourdough. The rest of the kit is just clutter.
