    The grains are pulled fresh on demand for every order and fed daily with Barambah certified organic milk. On arrival, they will be ready to produce 250ml of milk kefir for every 5g of kefir grains.

The grains arrived extremely fast by Express post. The kefir has started after 3 days in Norco Organic milk. The kefir tastes really good, just like a yoghurt. The grains have started to multiply. Very easy to make

So far so good

5 days in and the grains appear to be activating. As with any new venture you can only hope you are doing everything right and the grains appear to be happy. One concern was that it took 7 days for the package to arrive, some other suppliers make a point of ensuring as fast a delivery as possible to reduce damage to the grains, would this be a problem (sitting this length of time out of milk?)

Thank you for your feedback and for sharing your experience so far! I’m glad to hear that the grains are beginning to activate after five days. Starting a new fermentation venture can be a bit nerve-wracking, but it sounds like you’re on the right track!

Regarding the delivery time, I completely understand your concern. While kefir grains are best used as soon as possible after arrival, a delay of a few days is usually not a problem as long as the grains are kept cool and dry during transit. It’s great that you’ve been following the care instructions, and they should still recover well after being introduced to fresh milk.

I always recommend getting the grains into milk as soon as possible after receiving them to help them bounce back quickly. If you notice any issues or need further advice, don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m here to help!
