I'm very happy with my keffir purchase. They are very robust. I mistakenly lost a chunk of them in the first batch, but they coped and grew back very quickly.

I had them in a cupboard for several batches but they now chow through so much milk I've put them in the fridge to slow them down.

Even though I've had them before, this strain transforms the milk to a cheesy consistency if left for a little longer than necessary, where the other strain made the milk fizzy.

Consuming split keffir can be a psychological barrier but you can have the curd and whey with no I'll effect - in fact it really improved my gut, which had become a bit intolerant of milk as I aged. No probs now, which is fantastic as I like milk!

The milk batch in the fridge is ready to consume and has a lovely consistency. I'm looking forward to consuming it.

One other thing worth sharing - keffir in pancakes is great.

They were so fresh they literally activated within. Two days!!

My starter activated really fast. So fast, I was actually surprised. It has a really nice flavour. Now I am up to the fun part of trying to learn the art of sourdough. Had a couple of fails, I am sure there are still more to come. Such is life for the novice baker.

It only took about two rounds to get activated. Now that I have been using it for a few weeks, it ferments faster. Really enjoy having the kefir added to my breakfast and I also give it to my dog - who loves it !

At first the grains didn't seem to be working. But then after a few days everything went to plan. The grains just keep on growing.

My grains arrived beautifully packaged with clear and concise instructions to get me started. They only took a few days to become active and have given me 300ml of Kefir each day since, I love it! So much better than paying for bottled product at the shops. I’ll never look back now!
